The Institute for Women's Health Research will host a half-day special event celebrating National Women's Health Week on May 15, 2012. This event will include keynote speaker, Molly Carnes, MS, MD, from the University of Wisconsin, a poster session on current local research in women’s health and exhibits promoting women-friendly specialty clinics at Northwestern and other institutions in Chicago. We hope you will join us for this exciting event at Prentice Women's Hospital in Chicago, Illinois!  It is free and open to researchers, clinicians, students and the general public but registration is required.

Lecture: Dr. Molly Carnes, MD, MS, a professor in the Departments of Medicine, Psychiatry, and Industrial & Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin  will present a lecture on “Increasing Women’s Leadership in Academic Medicine and Science: What's Taking So Long?”  She directs the Center for Women’s Health Research and the Women Veterans Health Program.  She co-founded and co-directs the Women in Science and Engineering Leadership Institute (WISELI).  Her lecture will be held at noon at the Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital, 3rd floor.  To register for the free lecture and light lunch click HERE

Posters:  This poster session will feature basic, translational, behavioural and clinical research on women’s health.  Abstracts are due by May 1. The poster session will be held between 11 am-1:30 pm, May 15, in the Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital, 3rd floor Atrium.  Faculty, researchers, and students who would like to submit a poster abstract can do so by clicking here.

Exhibit:  Tables will be available for health providers who offer clinical services that are female friendly between 11 am- 1:30 pm, May 15, in the Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital, 3rd floor Atrium. If you sponsor a clinic of special interest to women and would like to have an exhibit table to feature your services, please complete an application.
