The Arts of Courage Project Event Celebration

March 2, 2013 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm

The Arts of Courage Project, ACP, mission is to create an empowering opportunity for cancer survivors to express themselves artistically. We seek to showcase the many facets of survivorship and the courage it takes to express oneself in such a way. We strive to give back to the tremendous community of survivors by leading by example, with courage.

ACP is actively seeking artwork created by anyone affected by cancer.

WE BELIEVE:
Art creates dialogue.
Dialogue instigates ideas.
Ideas produce knowledge.
Knowledge is power.
Power breeds courage.

The event is meant to draw anyone touched by cancer, and all whom support the fight against cancer. If you are interested in helping those who are currently in the throes of dealing with a cancer diagnosis, or are wanting to share your story/art within the survivor community, then we warmly welcome you.

WHY ACP?
The Arts of Courage Project objective is simple: pass it on. As a recent breast cancer survivor, founder Jorie Gillis has a deep desire to give back to an incredibly supportive community of cancer survivors. Combining her expertise and training in art, marketing, and now cancer (in all its glory), Jorie is following her passions and using them with the hopes of giving back. She has chosen LIVESTRONG as her charity of choice, for they generously contributed to her cancer fight in a life-changing way.
