Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is a national leader in fertility patient care and research. The OHSU Fertility Consults provide a variety of options for cancer patients facing potential reproductive risks caused by their cancer therapy, including:

  • initial consultation
  • oocyte freezing
  • embryo banking
  • hormonal supression with Lupron
  • ovarian tissue banking
  • ovarian pexy for women and sperm banking (post-pubertal) for men

Consultations for hormonal management of bleeding during chemotherapy are also available. Learn more about oncofertility services at OHSU Fertility Consultants.

The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology Program (AYA) offers services unique to young people undergoing cancer treatment, including fertility preservation, support groups and activities specific to ages 15-39. Learn more about how the AYA program supports fertility options

The OHSU Division of Reproductive and Developmental Sciences (DRDS) at the Oregon National Primate Research Center (ONPRC) conducts basic and applied research on non-human primates (primarily macaque species) to increase our understanding of primate reproduction and embryonic/fetal development, and to use this knowledge to control reproductive disorders, fertility and neonatal health.

OHSU research training programs are available for individuals entering science-oriented careers (pre-and post-doctoral fellows) and a research-oriented knowledge base in primate reproduction and development for others (K-12, high school teachers, college undergraduates, and the local public) in collaboration with local programs such as Saturday Academy.

DRDS serves as a regional, national and international resource, especially as it relates to NHP models and research.  Learn more about the OHSU ONPRC Division of Reproductive and Developmental Sciences.
