Celebrate Women’s Health Week at Northwestern (Chicago, IL)

The Women's Health Research Institute will host a special event celebrating National Women's Health Week on May 14, 2013. This year, the event will focus on the impact of diet and nutrition on women’s health.  Activities will include a keynote speaker, Holly Herrington, MS, RD, LDN, from the Center for Lifestyle Medicine, a poster session on current local research in women’s health, and exhibits promoting women-friendly specialty clinics at Northwestern and other institutions in Chicago.  It is free and open to researchers, clinicians, students and the general public, but registration is required.

Lecture: Holly Herrington, RD, LDN, is a Registered Dietitian in the Center for Lifestyle Medicine at Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation.  Holly received undergraduate degrees in Marketing and Human Sciences from Mississippi State University as well as a degree in Dietetics and Nutrition from the University of Mississippi. Holly completed her dietetic internship and pursued her Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She worked as both an inpatient and outpatient dietitian at Rush before joining Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation in 2009. Holly is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Her clinical interests include weight loss/bariatric surgery, diabetes management, cardiovascular health, gastrointestinal health and prenatal nutrition.  Her lecture will be held at noon at the Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital, 3rd floor.
