In 2011, the Swedish capital Stockholm will have the honor to host the 27th Annual Meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology. The venue of the meeting is Stockholm International Fairs', one of Europe´s largest convention centres situated only 2 stops (9 minutes) by local train from Stockholm Central Station.
Stockholm is also a place for science. It is well known for the yearly Nobel Prize ceremony in the city hall – a tradition that dates back to 1901 - and for the Swedish Academy, founded already in 1786 by King Gustav III. It is our intention to have this scientific spirit present also in 2011. The scientific committee will again be putting together an interesting and challenging programme for participants from all areas of human reproduction research and medicine. In addition there will be a number of pre-congress courses offering a wide range of educational activity as well as presenting new topics and ideas. The scientific and industrial exhibits will present the latest information within all parts of our field.
Throughout the years, and concurrent with the growth of the society, the annual meetings have known a steady increase, not only in terms of attendance, but also in terms of scientific recognition.
