A haircut can do more than make you feel beautiful. It can help women who've lost their hair due to cancer treatment feel beautiful, too!
Donate your locks at Make the Cut 2012 on Sunday, May 6th. Cut your hair along with other donors in a special ceremony, and receive FREE on-site styling! Hair donations are made into free, real-hair wigs and distributed to female cancer patients.

Hosted by employees from Northwestern Memorial Hospital's oncology units, the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University and members of the Oncology Nursing Society's Chicago Chapter, the event will include refreshments, speakers, educational materials, t-shirts and more. You don't have to donate your hair to attend Make the Cut–everyone is welcome to learn more about cancer and support this great cause.
NOTE: It takes about 6 ponytails to make a single real-hair wig. Talk to your colleagues, friends and family about Make the Cut and spend an afternoon making a difference together. To make beautiful, durable wigs donated hair should be:
- At least 8 inches long (no maximum length)
- Free of bleach, permanent color or chemical treatments. Vegetable dye and semi-permanent color is accepted, but untreated hair is preferred
- No more than 5% gray
