Dr. Anazodo, Director of the Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Center at Sydney Children’s Hospital in Australia, explained how big data can be used to track and improve fertility preservation procedures. The FUTuRE (Fertility Understanding Through Registry and Evaluation) Fertility Research Group was created to identify barriers to fertility preservation referral and uptake and to track fertility-related clinical and psychological outcomes in children, young adult and adult cancer patients. The Australasian Oncofertility Registry (AOFR) was designed to permit collection of international data on fertility preservation referrals, treatments and outcomes and represents a promising framework for investigation.
