We’re exited to continue our new blog series to spotlight National Physicians Cooperative member institutions! If your institution is a member of the NPC, submit your information to us for development of an institution-specific page on the Oncofertility Consortium website, as well as a blog post, to oncofertility@msu.edu. UNIVERSITY of ILLINOIS at CHICAGO FERTILITY PRESERVATION PROGRAM
The University of Illinois Fertility Preservation Program offers a comprehensive team approach to help women faced with serious conditions which may impair futurefertility. Our team consists of reproductive endocrinologists, urologists, medical and surgical oncologists, rheumatologists, pathologists, embryologists, research and clinical nurses, social workers and clinical ethics consultants who are here to help. Please click here for more information on the UI Health Fertility Preservation Program.
We are members of the Oncofertility Consortium® National Physicians’ Cooperative and offer a wide range of options for patients who desire fertilitypreservation for medical and non-medical indications:
- Embryo Freezing
- Egg Freezing
- Ovarian Tissue Freezing (Experimental)
- Egg Donation
In addition, our Andrology Laboratory offers a patient (or Client Depositor) Sperm Bank service for long-term storage of an individual’s sperm for reasons such as reduction in fertility potential, prior to chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy for male oncology, or prior to vasectomy. The Patient Sperm Bank is also used to store sperm extracted from the testes in the operating room, a procedure referred to as TESE (testicular sperm extraction). Sperm from a TESE procedure can be stored short-term or long-term for subsequent use with the ICSI-IVF procedure for pregnancy attempts. Please click here for more information regarding the UIC Andrology Laboratory.
Our physicians at the University of Illinois Fertility Center are Board Certified specialists in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
