National Research Centre (NRC)

The National Research Centre (NRC) of Egypt is the largest multidisciplinary R&D centre not only in Egypt, but also in Africa and Middle East. NRC was founded in 1956, and it contains more than 4500 researchers in different fields of basic and applied sciences. Recently, NRC has founded a new Medical Research Centre of Excellence (MRCE) that promotes high quality and efficient medical research through scientific expertise, education, training and management to ensure good standards of clinical practice. The limited resources in Africa make its proper allocation and exploitation is of utmost necessity. The NRC-MRCE provides edification and modelling to healthcare providers in Egypt and Africa as well. In addition, the NRC-MRCE endorses multi-partnership activities and collaboration and it acts as a training centre and multiplier to the Egyptian and regional Universities, hospitals and healthcare providers. Furthermore, the NRC-MRCE hosts several national and international workshops on reproductive medicine and fertility preservation. The state of the art building, new construction and facilities allow NRC-MRCE to provide the appropriate and suitable spot to shine on the African continent in the field of reproductive medicine and fertility preservation. Being in downtown Cairo facilitates easy access to most Universities and hospitals in Egypt. Moreover, human resources, staff, conference rooms, computers and internet service make NRC-MRCE a perfect place to conduct properly the educational and training tasks within this partnership with USA Oncofertility Consortium. We expect by participation in this partnership that the principles and practice of fertility preservation are properly introduced and dispersed nation and continent wide.
