Pró-Criar Reproductive Medicine

Founded in 1999, Pró-Criar Medicina Reprodutiva, located in Belo Horizonte/Minas Gerais and affiliated clinics in Juiz de Fora/MG and Ipatinga/MG, emerged through a partnership between doctors and infertility and human reproduction specialists. Conceived by Dr. João Pedro Junqueira Caetano (MD, MSc, PhD), an infertility specialist at the University of Paris, Pró-Criar Medicina Reprodutiva has a team of renowned physicians, biologists and psychologists, many of them with MSc and/or PhD degrees. Among them, Dr. Ricardo Marinho, a pioneer in the field of in vitro fertilization in Brazil, which led the team responsible for the birth of the first IVF baby in Minas Gerais in 1989. The clinic performs about 800 IVF cycles per year, and count with 15 physicians, 8 biologists and 4 psychologists. Pró-Criar has several different ongoing research projects in the Oncofertility field:  (Ovarian tissue freezing and in vitro folicle maturation), with a partnership with the Institute of Postgraduation of Medical School (IPG - Faculdade de Ciências Médicas de Minas Gerais); a collaboration with Hospitalar Foundation of Minas Gerais, FHEMIG – Alberto Cavalcanti Hospital and the Oregon National Primate Research Center, Oregon Health and Science University (ONPRC/OHSU).
