Oncofertility Student Receives Honor at the 27th Annual Congress of the Brazilian Society of Assisted Reproduction

Daiane Bulgarelli, currently PhD student in the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto, Universidade de São Paulo, Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brasil, recently received the first prize award from the for her oral presentation at the 27th annual congress of the Sociedade Brasileiro de Reprodução Assistida (Brazilian Society of Assisted Reproduction) held August 21 -24, 2013 in Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.  Daiane conducted her award-winning research, “Vitrification of isolated secondary follicles:  a new option for fertility preservation in cancer patients”, while a Fogarty Fellow in the laboratory of Drs. Mary Zelinski and Alison Ting, Division of Reproductive & Developmental Sciences, Oregon National Primate Research Center.  Her research was funded by the Oncofertility Consortium and a Fogarty International Center grant awarded to Dr. P. Michael Conn.  Congratulations to Daiane, and to the Oncofertility Consortium’s continued success in training the next generation of scientists!
