Every year, the Oncofertility Consortium provides funding for pilot studies to investigate emerging aspects of oncofertility. The results of one pilot study termed the Survey for Preservation of Adolescent Reproduction (SPARE) were just published in the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics by Oncofertility Consortium researchers Tobias S. Kohler, Laxmi A Kondapalli, Amula Shah, Sarah Chan, Teresa K. Woodruff, and Robert E. Brannigan. This article discusses opinions that pediatric oncologists have about fertility preservation, referral patterns, and the current barriers that prevent young cancer patients from receiving care.
